I haven't given the full context because there are issues of confidentiality here, but in short it's a group Camino or no Camino. So the question is about finding resources to help organise one. Thanks.
Hi everyone. Just wondering if anyone knows of any resources for large-ish groups doing the Camino? The group in question is about 20 people. I've seen some albergues that only allow large groups after 4pm or so, and the one large group that I encountered (about 60 people) had alternative...
I'm vegetarian rather than vegan, but I just ate at a vegan bar/restaurant in Oviedo, about 300 metres from the Cathedral ("El Manglar", in Calle Martinez Vigil). I also spotted a restaurant in Pola de Siero (for those doing the Norte-Primitivo link) that did a four-course vegan pilgrims' menu...
I was also hoping to take each day as it comes, but when people talk about booking ahead, are they talking about planning out the whole Camino from beginning to Santiago/Finisterre/Muxia, or just booking a couple of days ahead?
I'm due to arrive in Bilbao on the evening of 6th July, and start walking next day. It would be great to see some of you who've posted on this thread, though I leave Australia on the 4th, so please forgive me if I'm jet-lagged and grumpy! I'll do part of the Camino del Norte, then turn off onto...
There is evidence of quite a significant Jewish presence in Oviedo, which of course is the starting point of the Camino Primitivo and has also been the object of a (lengthy) detour for pilgrims on the Camino Francés. There's some information about the Jewish people of Oviedo at...
I'm loving this thread - thank you to everyone who has participated in it. It might be worth adding that something like the Jesus prayer can be synchronised with the footsteps instead of (or as well as) the breath. Thich Nhat Hanh has some useful bits of advice on doing that while walking, using...
For the record, I find myself more in the running shoe camp than in the walking boot camp (though it's just what seems to work marginally better for me - I'm not a running-shoe fundamentalist:)), but I've decided to do the Norte/Primitivo route next year, and from what I've read and pictures...
There seem to be some quite strong opinions out there on the footwear question, but I wondered if anyone has used different footwear for different routes to Santiago. For example, you might have worn running shoes on the Camino Portugues, but walking boots on the Primitivo. Any comments?
Hi everyone. You've probably all heard (or maybe experienced) the division of the Camino Frances into three "phases": the physical (from the Pyrenees); the mental/emotional (the meseta); and the spiritual (Galicia). Just wondering if people have a similar experience of the Camino Portugues, or...
