Backpack Transfer Service Between Bayonne and Irun

We are planning to hike the Camino Norte in September. We plan to start the camino in Bayonne and use a baggage transfer system like the one offered in Spain (Correos). For the few days we are in France before crossing into Spain does anyone know of or used a baggage transfer service.

Camino del Norte - August 2022 accommodations?

We are planning to be on the Camino Nortestarting around September 11th. I am wondering if some hostels are even open -- for example at Pozeta and Olabe. Anybody been on the route this year and can help me out?

Del Norte...1st half vs 2nd half

Camino Chrissy: I see that our Camino histories are very similar -- Frances in 2017, Le Puy in 2018 and the Rota Vicentina in 2019 -- I loved each of them for different reasons -- the Frances for the social aspect, the Le Puy for the physicality, and the Rota Vicentina for the outstanding...

OBSOLETE COVID THREAD Primitivo in Spring, 2020?

We are debating on either taking the Primitivo or the Norte this but would like the route with less road walking. What has been your experience on either one as we would prefer to have dirt underfoot and not asphalt.

The fond memory of my Camino

Such an evocative painting. Tugs at my heartstrings even more so today as it was exactly two years ago that we struck off from St Jean Pied-de-port on our first Camino. Thank you ever so much for this post.

    Struggling on the Le Puy

Hey Truenorthpilgrim: I'm feeling for you out here in digital land. I've walked both the Camino Frances and the Via Podiensis over the past 2 years. Around the communal table, it can be very isolating when you don't have the language or a partner to share your day's experiences with. After...

Sleeping bag necessary in late Aug - early Sept?

We started last year on September 10th and traveled into October without the need for a sleeping bag, using only a sleeping sheet. Blankets always available in the albergues we stayed in. Enjoy what was for us a fantastic experience.

    Camino Reflections

"So what if you butchered your Spanish today" Love that line. I've recently adopted the view that each morning brings with it a new language lesson and a country of unsuspecting and uknowing (but usually very helpful) tutors.

    The Meseta.

In Hospital de Obigo we stayed at Albergue Verde. It was a warm communal experience, -- great vegetarian supper, free yoga -- and the highlight for me was in an after-supper soliloquy, the yogi talked about the 3 phases of the Camino, the physical, mental and spiritual. The Meseta is...
