Things to know before walking the Camino with your dog

While on a holiday to the Northern Territory in Australia I noticed a sign at the entrance to a National Park. " Do your dog a favour this holiday, leave it at home" This is such a good idea, for the dog and for the other people on holidays. Not everybody loves your dog as much as you do.

how long did you stay in SJPP?

Saint Jean is a tourist town but really, it is a special place. It is worth two night if you have the time. The three times we have been there has always been exciting. Looking around town, talking to other pilgrims, eating the great food and just contemplation the walk ahead is what a...

Cost excluding food - is 8-15 euros correct?

Menu del dia or Menu de peregrino?

Casa Rural's are the best for food and accommodation. You will always get a wonderful meal, the rooms are always good and the wine is always better. If ever I walk the CF again I will try and stay in as many CR as possible. It will cost you more but the experience is worth it.

    Worth carrying?

Waterproof pants that only weigh 1.3 ounces more than the gaiters is a no brainer. Take the waterproof pants. They can also pass as a pair of long pants when your others are still wet from laundry and you need long pants to go out for dinner because it is too cold to wear shorts. I have walked...

What can I really expect to spend on this walk?

How true, it may also be the only time you ever get to walk through Spain so if it cost you a few more $ to enjoy your Camino then just do it. Remortgage the house if necessary.

Most times it does Tim, the other times you have to work it out yourself. Enjoy your Camino, it is the start of a whole new life for you. Not a day goes by that I don't think of the Camino.
