Oh dear - looks like I'm out of luck then! It seems like pretty much everywhere nearby is full up as well. In such circumstances, is it consiered acceptable to sleep outside the building?- MarcPacitti

This all has me a bit worried because I haven't booked either a bed or a dinner and it looks like they are in short supply! If someone shows up at a relatively decent time, are they still likely to be able to get either without a booking?- MarcPacitti

That's the one! I've maybe unwisely booked a train from Bayonne instead but I guess I'll probably bump into you at the airport. And as for the marathon, that wasn't the cleverest thing I've ever done so maybe worth discounting my advice accordingly!- MarcPacitti

I'm flying to Biarritz (from London) on Saturday as well and planning to walk from SJPP on Sunday too! As others have said, probably best to see how it goes and maybe replan your route/stops to reduce any strain you experience.
