    You are absolutely correct, coger un palo means “grab a stick”, but in PR, “date un palo” or “dame un palo” means “have a drink” or “give me a drink”. We are getting into deep linguistical weeds in here…

    I think you're wrong about the RAE's stance on actor. Actor is m, actriz is f,. actores is plural m/mixed/unspecified , actrices is plural f. This follows the same rules as similar spanish gendered noun. E.g. chico, chica, chicos and chicas...
