What’s the difference between my two chargers?

There is a lot of great responses here (former 'industry expert' as they called me). I've a few additional notes. Try to only use your charger for security reasons, especially when traveling as on trip you are more likely to access details that you don't want shared. If you plug in with another...

What do you wash your clothes with

Completely agree with Dr. Bronners. I just bring a small container of peppermint for everything. But do love both the lemon and lavender. Note the peppermint is a bit strong if you are sensitive to aromas. However like it states on the bottle. Dilute! Just a few drops works each time. I have...

    Gortex or No -Gortex Shoes

I understand this is a polarized topic, with many good pros and cons. My experience is to go with gortex so that I can walk with less worry and just step into the odd puddle when required. I never found that they had issues drying overnight personally. My preference is the salomon xa pro 3d's.

Does anyone know of any shorter pilgrimage routes around the world?

As my wife and I just completed the Kumano Kodo a few months back and very much enjoyed our pilgrimage, I also recommend it. Few differences: I found it more of a nature hike, than a Spanish town to town hike. While shorter in distance, it was harder up and down trails. Similarly to the...

    OK guys, what underwear?

Some years back I bought a bunch of different brands as I tried to find good running underwear, including some very pricey ones. As some others have said, I found and settled on Saxx. It's all I have now and used them on all my Caminos and a few months back on the Kumano Kodo. I found first...

What clothes to wear at night?

As some others have said I have a pair of thin long running shorts and a thin t-shirt that I sleep in. Added bonus is that I do sometimes wear at night if I do a full laundry. Very light and comfortable, and not much extra to my two sets of walking clothes.

What I lost on the Camino

The only thing I have ever lost on Camino is a few pounds (as some others have mentioned). However this may not count as I always seem to find them again! 😊

    Feedback on packing list please

What are you wearing to sleep in? (assuming you are considering alberges) Also just a general statement that you seem well prepared with the equipment. Spend some time practicing to build confidence. Then... Don't worry too much about it. I have seen pilgrims with light packs suffering and...

Say No! to rubber tips on your poles.

While I don't use poles, my wife does and benefits greatly from their use. In a few weeks we are off to walk the 'sister pilgrimage' the Kumano Kodo. We were surprised to read this.... "The Kumano Kodo is an ancient pilgrimage and you’ll see many signs along the way asking you to put caps on...

My buff has been so necessary!

I love my Camino buff so much I put it in my forum picture. 😀 It is a buff brand but I haven't seen that design since, though many have asked me about it.

    Portugues Central Route

Too many I think just walk through Valenca, not appreciating it? However having said that I really enjoy Tui. Don't miss Ideas for a meal or a stay. Very highly recommended! I also agree with @Dilbin that the falls and little pool by Caldas de Rei is very worth the slight walk off the main...

Light sleeping bag or silk liner?

Both, but in one. My wife and I have sleeping bags that have one side with a light lining, and the other side with insulation. Works great as you can just sleep under the side you need, change during the night, and they pack very small. We've long since cut off the tags and I forget the name...

    Camino Irritants

Have you seen the shokz open run headphones? Light, comfortable, and do not block the ears so much safer to walk with Just noticed now K Lynn had the same suggestion

    Camino Irritants

Am planning to walk it in Nov! 😊 (however a bit off topic perhaps?)

Food on the Camino, what do you miss?

Dessert flan from a little plastic cup (just kidding!! ) Fresh and sweet orange juice for breakfast! Also we have made some pretty good Santiago Tortes here at home as we missed the simple sweet treat so much.
