I walked via Calzadilla de Los Hermanillos a coupl of weeks back. The municipal is undergoing refurbishment and there are only six beds available with basic facilities. My companion and I were ok with that. There was only one other Albergue open, that is where had a fabulous menu del dia evening...
Good news! The municipal Albergue is now open and will cost you 8 euros per night. Lovely and clean. Be aware of the 9 pm curfew in place at present!
I stayed there last night and confirm its open.
Brierly guidebook 2022 page 160 refers to this as closed but check.
Buen Camino
I February 2018 I walked through the snow at O Cebreiro through to Alto do Poio, no crampons, sticking to the footpath not the road. Just crossed the road at Linares. Fabulous views - wear gloves! Buen Camino
I did my first Camino in my 60th year. What an amazing and exhilarating experience. I met lovely people. Achieved and was challenged in all kinds of ways. Prayers were always answered and boy did I weep when I collected my Compostela. Don't wait guys and girls just do it! I am hooked now.

I am staying in Bayonne on 11th catching the first train to SJPP and heading off that morning (12th) for Valcarlos which I believe to be open.
May see you at some point!
Buen Camino.
Valcarlos is the route, probably stopping there overnight as there is still I believe limited daylight at this time of year. Cannot start till after 9 am in St JeanPP
I am planning to undertake a Lent Pilgrimage this coming year and am wary of travelling too light in the early part of the year... others reckon I may find rather a lot of snow... has anyone been on the Camino Frances in the early part of the year recently? Hints and tips much appreciated...
