Hiya, I didn't stay in commercial huts.
Anyone contemplating the GR11 or the GR10 should be aware these are mountain routes and need to be treated with respect. I would consider the Napoleon route on the Frances, the first day out from Irun taking the high route of the Norte or the Hospitales...
I have walked the GR11 CtC and the GR10 CtC.
If you have specific questions just ask.
You didn't give dates so I can't give much of an answer on huts, August is busy and will need booking although the remote ones will be less so. I carried camping gear but also stayed in a variety of huts from...
Great write up brought back some fine memories. I walked the reverse route with my finish in Malpica. I also stayed at JB hotel and had a good experience will stay there again.
Having done this journey on several occasions, knowing where the bus stops, the position of the correct platform and carrying a prepaid ticket. 1 hour between connections is too tight, this is only my opinion.
You can do it that way as well. Make sure you have two stamps between Muxia and Fisterra. I got my certificate at the municipal alburgue in Muxia and also at the municipal in Fisterra.
I've walked the Camino dos Faros. The route between Muxia and Fisterra is not the recognised Camino route which runs inland where the Dos faros hugs the coast.
I have both certifiates that the OP mentions the Fisterra one is obtained by walking from Santiago, the Muxia one is obtained by walking...
I guess laughing at them would be no big deal but taking a photo could cause them to panic and try to retrieve the evidence.
I applaud your feisty nature.
Normally these men are younger than 65 and more than likely stronger than you, good luck with knocking them into next Sunday. Be aware of...
Hi Matte,
The Sureste is similar in price to other Caminos if you factor in that some days will cost nothing yet others can cost €20 per night. If you have a tent its possible to find a good camp spot every day, extra water will need to be carried if going for this option. Take showers in...
Thank you for those kind words, Joe.
I'm staying in Santiago until the end of June doing my yearly Hospitalero stint. Then I go to the Pyrenees for July and August. This year I'm either going to walk the HRP or go bagging the 3000m tops that I haven't yet got. I've already through hiked both...
Finished a couple of days ago.
The Invierno is a Camino not to be missed.
Here is my track profile.
Lots of nice scenery and plenty of quiet time. Accommodation is good and at reasonable prices.
Cheers Mike,
A very convenient Hostal for €18 with Pilgrim discount.
Lovely walk today, weather was a little overcast but other than that a perfect day.
