    Happy New Year! 5776!!

@Castilian. Yes saw this name change to "Hill of the Jews". I tend to favor this new name over its former "Matajudios", meaning "Kill the Jews" FYI - "Mota" is also slang for marijuana. So "Castrillo Mota de Judios"-- Not opposed to that meaning either -- Ha :) All kidding aside, it...

    Happy New Year! 5776!!

@design4life - I attempted to do the same when I walked in 2013! -- Soy peregrina judia tambien. The history is pretty brutal. In effort to add a little light humor, my reports back to friends and family pretty much went like this: "Estella - our people did not fair well here...."...

Agony of de-feet: Trail Running Shoe (GTX) & SOCK Combo HELP

This thread really helped me re-evaluate. Thank you! Loving the Asics 2000 3 Trail D width. No GTX. I think the no gore-tex makes sense. Will have my tried and true Teva's as back up. Still working on socks.

Starting mt first camino in SJPP on 30/9/15

We may cross paths, Christine - I am starting in Ponferrada Oct 24th. Walked SJPDP to Ponferrada in 2013. You will be amazed with the diversity of ages, backgrounds and all fitness levels completing the Camino. Some of my most meaningful and beautiful memories from 2013 were the days I...

Agony of de-feet: Trail Running Shoe (GTX) & SOCK Combo HELP

Many great takeaways from this thread. Thank you to all who replied!! Still working on the shoe and sock combo. I'm getting in the WrightSock double layer to try and looking into the laces. As an FYI - I am returning the Altra Lone Peak Neo Shell. They weren't as wide as I had hoped...

    Training from a flat place

+ additional thought - if you do look into the Rebounder - definitely research it to determine if it is right for you and discuss with your doctor. It is a $ investment.

    Training from a flat place

Trekking poles are key. Recommend two for the stability. I live in Florida and have trekked all over the world. It is always a challenge to train when it is flat. No piece of machine or workout prepares you for hiking like hiking with ascents and descents. Three things that have...

    How much past Pamplona

It will work out. May be good to have an idea of the bus and train options in advance so you can have certain cities in mind as you walk, You can keep your options open. I had a similar experience. I knew I would not have enough time to complete the Camino in 2013 but in the last few days...

    How much past Pamplona

Start in SJPDP and go as far as you can. I wouldn't skip in your situation. That way you can start where you left off on your next trip. Burgos is a great town to tour and catch transportation if you do decide to jump ahead for travel logistics home.
