I’m surprised that nobody has recommended Restaurant Manolo which has always been a firm favourite with Pilgrims. I know that the owner Manolo died last year but it was still open and thriving when I was last there in October 2022.
So sad to hear this news. Back in 2007 a friend who had just returned from the Camino loaned me John’s book. I only glanced through it and immediately bought my own copy. I did my first Camino Frances later that year, again in 2008 and 2009. As 2010 was a Holy Year with large numbers of pilgrims...
Michael here again.
I’ll be flying to Seville tomorrow Sept 14 and starting on Wednesday. I have started a blog so as to give some up to date information as to what is open.
The blog is:
caminodlp21.com
I hope it will be of use.
Michael
Hi. I’m starting from Seville on Wednesday 15 September. Because of the uncertainty I have made a no of bookings along the way.
For anyone coming after me I have started a blog at caminodlp21.com where I will post information on what is open. This is my first blog so I hope it works.
Michael.
Hi. I’m starting from Seville on Wednesday 15 September. Because of uncertainty as to what is open or not I have made a number of reservations along the way. I was booked into Casa Concha for 17th but they cancelled because of building works. Now booked into El Romeral. All the best. Michael
Hi, I’ll start from Seville on 15 September so I will be ahead of you. I have made a number of reservations but there are a number of places where there is only an albergue and it is closed. I am trying to set up a blog (I’m not a blogger) but if that doesn’t work I’ll post some info here. Michael
Hi. I hoping to start from Seville on 14 September and while I have asked fo information on albergues I have received no info. It seems to me that all the municipal albergues are closed certainly the ones in Riego del Camino, Xunqueira de Ambia and Castro Dozon are closed. So much for those...
I hope to start from Seville on 14 September so I too am anxious to hear from anyone who has walked it so far this year and to find out if albergues along the way are open. I have made some bookings along the way in small hotels or casa rurals but there are some places where there is only an...
Gerald. Thanks for the info. It’s worrying that some towns are closed off from entering. I haven’t seen that up to now. Hope that changes before I go. Thanks. Michael
It56ny thanks for your reply. A lot of planning this year as it’s difficult to know what is open. Someone ha recommended Gronze which I haven’t used before but on a quick glance it seems to give email addresses that I haven’t found before. At this stage my plan is to start and see how far I’ll...
Rowena. Thanks for that. Yes it’s me. I may have said “take me out and shoot me” so obviously nobody has and yes I am hoping to go again. A lot more planning this as it’s hard to know if Albergues are open and there are reports of towns along the way being closed off. That is a worry. I’ll make...
