I stayed here during my pilgrimage. You come out of the woods tired, and hoping for a bed, and there is Jakue. It is like stumbling into this wonderful garden. I chose to sleep in the room with about 30 beds. I think it was one of my most memorable nights on the Camino! I loved it!
Typically the service is available where you check in at the hostel. The Hostelero should know. I carried my pack, it weighed 30lbs, everyone called me 15 kilo and wanted to empty out my pack for me. It was super heavy. I stumbled one day where the path was gravel. The path under the gravel...

Hi Brian & Deb - This morning I purchased train tickets from Bilbao to SJDP for $88. I am planning on walking out on the morning of Saturday the 16th, so I should be a day or so ahead of you. Hopefully we will see each other along the way. I am pretty jazzed up about it! Buen Camino!
I land in Madrid on the 14th - I have not worked up my plan on getting from Madrid to SJDP yet- but I hope to walk out of SJDP on the 16th!! I am pretty excited about it!!
Billy B - I have not yet made my camino - yet I have been to Santiago before. It is the most amazing place. I wanted to live there. Perhaps having your son spend a few days there with you would be amazing!

Texas Guy,

Annie - are you flying in and out of Madrid? Or do you return from another city?
Also what airline did you get your ticket from? That is a great price.

Texas guy - I truly like your sentiment. I am planning on my first camino in May 2016. I think I will wake up every day from now until then - thinking listen to the wind and the rain. My decision to make the camino came after the loss of my husband. I know I have been looking for him since I...
