If my memory serves me correct, there's the choice of "spiritual reasons" (vs. "religious reasons") which is also "hassle-free". In my view, "spiritual" and "religious" are far apart.
Haven't used it for washing clothes. However, in my case (a short hair, daily wash) the estimate of 60-80 washes sounds really low. I mean, after about 50 washes the bar still had about two thirds left.
Re: shampoo bars
I've been using Lush shampoo and conditioner (solid bars). Kewl products, strongly recommend. They also sell little tin boxes for the shampoo and conditioner bars. Found them really handy on my previous Camino.
I won't be using a "computer" or a datacard - I'll be using a mobile device. Security issues will not be a problem.
Since my mobile is provided and bills paid by my employer, cost is not an issue as such. I'd have 3G, GPRS, EDGE and whatnots so I'd be able to use them if necessary but WLAN...
