    Walking at this time of year, or later, I’d my favourite. A list of albergues that will be open after November 1st, is published every year, near the end of October. A link usually appears on this forum. Because you be setting off in the dark, you can visit the first bar, buy some fried eggs...

    Santiago cake

    As I walked into Santiago in 2007, Brïta from Vienna and I discussed the various takes on the Tarta de Santiago. Since then, I posted her recipe on our website https://victoriacamino.ca/camino-recipes/#TartadeSantiago . The longer you beat the eggs (Brïta suggest 5-10 minutes) the lighter the cake.

    Walking from SJPDP to Roncesvalles: Alternative Routes and Overnight Options

    FYI in 2013, the Napoleon route was closed due to snow and poor visibility on April 19th and again on April 28th. No views at all. Even the Valcarlos route had lots of snow so it made navigating a bit difficult.

    I'm planning on the Sanabres from Zamora in October this year. I realize we have global warming which makes weather unpredictable, but....did you find a lot of rain last year in October on the route? Thanks
