I walked the San Salvador in October last year and met two other pilegrims in the alberges. All day I was alone. Continued on the Primitivo where there were more people. Walking in autumn, winter and spring is the best.
Everybody talk about Pyreneene, but there can be snow from Burgos also and up to O Cebreiro as well. I walked in March some years ago and had snow all these places.
Thank you for the story. I walked San Salvador in October and loved it. No snow and some other pilegrims that told me to order dinner in Poldura in advance as well in Pajeres. I met the snow on the Primitivo and had many wet and cold days.
Hello!
I will start Camino Salvador in the midle of October and continue with Camino Primitivo. As you I do not like to walk when it is hot. Maybe we meet if you do not start your camino to early from Ovideo.
Best regard Inger Marie
I walked from Sevilla 15. January 2016 and arrived Santiago after six weeks. I had 3 days of rain. The temperature was around 10 degrees. Perfect weather for a Norwegian to walk in. I had an ekstra warm and light jacket to use in the afternoon. Some nights I had to sleep in it also. Buen Camino!
I walked Via de la Plata in January and February 2016. I used 6 weeks and had 3 days of rain. It was a very fine walk and I recomand it. Very little other pilegrims and many nice alberge and local people.
I stayedhere in Colmar 4. Marx last year. Ok place and 20 € and the rom for my self. I did not find the alberge in Tres Cantos and walked on. IT EAs a long day.
I walked from Sevilla - Santiago in January/February 2016, 6 weeks on the Camino. The weather was fine, around 10 degrees celsius and only tree days with rain. I had no problem to find open alberge and I walked about 20 - 25 km pr day. There were nearly no other pilegrims on the camino.
I walked from Sevilla to Santiago at this time two years ago and also meet closed dors, but with a little help from the locals I always found a place to sleep. Sometimes I took a taxi to get there. I walk no more than 30 km a day, mostly 20 - 25 km. I do not speak spanish, just some few words...
