Hi, my wife and I last walked the Camino France's five years ago. Since then we have completed two other routes. We have decided to plan a return visit this May.
Our experiences from the first trip were all positive, apart from a few overcrowded albergues and a painful descent from O Cebreiro...
Hi,
My wife and I will be walking the Via de la Plata starting from Seville in late March.
We have only 30 days to complete the walk and would like advice on how we can reduce the length using public transport. We are happy to average 25 km per day so we would need to reduce the walk from 1000...
Hi,
My wife and I are both over 60 and are planning our Camino from Lisbon to Santiago in Late August.
We completed the Camino Frances last year and found no problems with accomodation along the way.
However as there appear to be less accomodation on the Portugese route, we have tried to book...
Hi
Planning our Camino for End of August but have only 19 days to complete the journey. (Plus one day at each end).
This looks just about possible to us (we have already completed SJJP to Santiago).
However are there any buses or trains to skip parts if necessary and any industrial areas worth...
Hi, I have completed the walk from SJPP to Villafrance in two stages and start my final stage this Monday (26th September). I am flying into Santiago, arriving 9.35 am and need to make my way back to Villafranca.
The buses seem to be out of sync on every route I've tried.
The best I've found is...
Thanks for the info on the taxi.
I have looked at the bus to Lugo, but we just miss the 9.25. The next is at 11.10 which arrives at 13.00. We would then have to connect to Sarria. If it was just myself it looks like a good option.
As there are six of us the taxi fare is not too bad, plus we...
Hi
A group of six of us are planning a mini-camino in september.
Ryanair have a flight which arrives in Santiago at 9.30 on Wednesdays and another which departs late on Sunday night. We should be able to cover about 125 - 150 kms from Wednesday to Sunday.
Does anyone know of a transfer or taxi...
Hi
I completed the stages from SJPP to Burgos last October and plan to walk for 12 more days from Burgos commencing early May. Even though I carried only 8kg last time I am looking at every way to reduce weight. This time I am leaving behind my Spanish phrase book, bed bug liner (not used last...
Hi
My wife and I did the stages from SJPP to Burgos in twelve days last september (we are walking the next twelve stages in May).
Logrono to Burgos should take you only five days. Pamplona to Burgos is about 9 days - but you could get a bus for one day at some point on the route. Apart form...
Hi
Last September two of us got a specialist camino taxi from Biaritz airport to SJPP - cost 60 euros. Sounds a bit expensive but is saves all of the train fares - and took 1 hour instead of half a day - alowed us to start the walk straight away and stayed in Orisson (esential to book) for the...
Many thanks for the help on this.
I hope to arrive at St Jean at about 4.30 pm. I have booked into Orisson, but Dinner is at 6.30 pm at this time of year.
So we will have to get our skates on...... but difficult uphill.
Off tomorrow - can't wait to start.
Rich
Planning to walk to from St Jean to Orisson, leaving at about 5 pm next week. Maps seem to indicate about 8 to 10km, but with a steep incline I wanted to make sure we could get to Orisson whilst its still daylight. How long does it actually take?
