Absolutely! While walking the Portuguese this past autumn I stopped in Porto and had a very clean strait razor shave. And on the way back to Lisbon i stopped again for another. I don't think I can get a shave like that in the States anymore. Certainly not where I live.

I walked that same timeframe as you and it truly was a bit daunting. As far as wet feet, I hated it. No, I did not get blisters and , for the most part, never really noticed. But, I didn’t like it. I fly with dry.
I also highly recommend Superfeet insoles. I use "carbon" (currently called "run"), the thinnest insole they make. It's like walking barefoot. I've walked approximately 2,000 miles a year for the past 4 years and haven't suffered any serious pain. Expensive, but worth every penny.
