Is it only the albergues that close? Is it still possible tot staat in a hostel of b&b?
Normaly I leave Belgium on april 1th to the Central Route of the Camino Portugues from Porto. Ik hope things will be more under controle then.
Are there albergues/gîtes in every village betwern Lourdes and SJPdP? I am planning to do this part of the Chemin in july with my 12 years old son. Maybe we can't walk 23 km a day, so we neef to stop earlier. We might take our tent with us, but if not necessary, thats easier and lighter...
I have written a paper about pastoral care on the camino. Although it's in Dutch, I post it here. There are some places with lots of spirituality named in it (anno 2016).
That depends on how well you go downhill. It's hard and steep through the forrest. You can walk faster if you take the road. So it realy depends on how well you can descent...
I didn't train at all (and I'm from Belgium so also no mountains available) and the hilss were okay. It wasn't easy and my legs hurt, but when you just keep on moving and take rests now and then, drink a lot of water and maybe take some magnesium, and keep on breathing, everything will be fine...
