Yes, I can confirm that this year we have an increase of pelgrims who start in Vezelay on their way to Assise. A lot of french people dot that pilgimage instead of Santiago.

IMHO the version of Conrad Stein is very,very good ! I used it in 2006 and saw at their website a lot of comments of people with some very good advices about the route, etc.

Little remark : the North-route is in July and especially August very,very busy ..... with tourists !! Much of the spanish people escape the inner part of spain (heath! )for a holiday at some more cooler places at the north of Spain.
