    Trekking poles

Hi, don’t leave without them! They are really helpful and take a load off the knees. I recommend Pacer Poles because of their ergonomic handle - much better than pole with straps. Look em up online. We walk in the Lake District all the time and always use them - used on Camino Ingles and glad...

    Medical first aid kit

A tick remover maybe worth packing - deer ticks seen on most routes. Know how to remove the little sods properly - pull don’t twist.

    Trains/buses from Santiago to Ferrol

Did the same as you in 2013. I looked at busses and trains but was concerned about timing and stress with the rugsack as others have said. Ended up getting a taxi, wasn’t expensive really and took an hour. 4.5 days to walk back!!! Ask for the price from a few cabs before you jump in. This way...

    Excited newbie(s)

Camino Ingles advice for a newbie

Hi, My wife and I did the Ingles in 2013 with two friends, three of us in our fifties and one just turned 70. We flew EasyJet from Gatwick to SdC and then picked up a taxi from the airport to Ferrol - all in all an easy journey. The taxi took an hour, the walk back four and half days! A must...

Suggestions where to stay in Ferrol?

Hotel Suizo in Ferrol suited us this September perfectly. Easy walk into town for Mass at 7pm and a meal after. The breakfast was the best we had during our Camino and we could buy water for the day from reception. The man we dealt with on arrival and the next morning was delightful, helpful...
