    Still Longing to Return

Inspirational... and I was wondering if I should book flights because of a bit of a sore knee! See you along the Way, if you walk or not.

Hi CillaP, you will be fine, there are usually a number who follow the Valcarlos Route either the path or even the road. If you don’t mind walking on tarmac the road is wide and has a wide verge. It’s unlikely you will be by yourself, unless you want to be.

Yes, and so will quite a few more. I’m always filled with trepidation myself, but found when I started off it dripped away and really enjoyed the experience. You will too. As long as you’re walking in the right direction! Pax.

I’ve walked the Valcarlos Route and it’s fine. A lot of bends but it’s not difficult. I hope to do it again as I will be starting late in the day due to late flight etc. Then when I get to Roncesvalles early next day I may make the next town. May see you on the way. Look out for an oldie with...

Hi kbgambs, just be careful it doesn’t suck you in and make you part of the Camino family! Enjoy the Way and The Walk and the Pilgrims. Buen Camino!

Hi Vaughan, time wise I don’t like to hang around, my first took 30 days and second 28 days. I should have taken it slower but I was enjoying myself. Spent 3 nights in Santiago, which was good. I am allowing myself 31 days this time... I’m getting on a bit! Buen Camino

Hi Pilgrims, great to hear everyone’s story, and it’s nice to be part of it! Setting off on 25 April for my 3rd stroll from SJPDP. Was going to wait until next year when I’m 70, but why wait? Hope to see some of you along the way. Buen Camino!

    plantar fasciitis

I had a bit of pain at the start of my walk but with stretching exercises i.e. toes pointed towards my knees, the discomfort lessened. I wore Sketchers hiking boots but had to change to Keens sandals for a few days. Taking footwear off and massaging feet for a few minutes was probably the most...

    plantar fasciitis

I'm glad I asked the question and very happy with the answers. I used a combination of massage and stretching which seems to have done it. At present my PF is not giving me major concern but when I strap the rucksack on, who knows. Well, I suppose I'll know after Tuesday when I start the CF...

    The Call of the Camino

Me too! I'm starting in SJPP in under 2 weeks, after saying never again! Well, we'll see this time... maybe! Buen Camino!

    plantar fasciitis

Again, thanks for all the replies. I was thinking that nobody in their right mind would attempt the Camino with PF! And I'm right! Hope to meet some of you guys along The Way in early April.. Plantar or not!!

    plantar fasciitis

Many thanks for all your replies and support. One of my daughters is a podiatrist and is great with advice and treatment. However, I have done the Camino and know it can be difficult with two good feet. You are giving me the confidence to know that I'm not alone and others have tiptoed along...
