I have been there. Lots of Advil. A pharmacist along the way said Advil and get my friend to carry my pack. If you get enough rest, stretching and Advil before you go it may resolve itself. Carrying heavy loads does not help.

I agree with the stretches. Those stair ones are the best. But I also use the custom inserts and wear Chacos at other times. Sometimes a twitch comes back and I get more aggressive with my exercises again.

Yes, unless you are super fit and have a shedule to meet stay at Orrison. We flew to Paris, (stayed the night) a night in Bayonne and a night in St. Jean, Orrison and then Roncesvalles. It still seemed like a long slog from Orrison to Roncesvalle.
But we each have to do what works for us.
