Yes. Lots of interest these days in being able to say you have the smallest pack then hanging things on the outside because they do not fit in said pack! I believe Gossamer Gear fills packs with styrofoam beads to measure capacity.
The "Zero drop" with Altras takes getting used to if you're used to walking in a shoe with a rise of say 8 to 11 mm. I also find them too spongy and prefer a shoe that doesn't make me fell that all my energy is sinking into a mushy sole. And I could predict that the tread would be worn out for...
Thanks Kazrobbo. Interesting you just mentioned the Cicerone guide as I have one for Camino Norte and am disappointed by lack of info beyond route and accommodation. Maybe a one off, but..... VDLP plans would be for fall this year so will look into the Gerald Kelly 2020 version.
Hello pilgrims. Many guidebooks listed seem older. Any recommendations for an up to date guide for the VDLP. Prefer a concise combination of info, history, routing and accommodation.
I think this is a great idea! The central and and littoral route are quite different and though I have not walked from Lisbon, I think I'd prefer to do what you are suggesting.
