Flying to Bordeaux 28th April..1 night stop over..Train to SJPDP 29th April..2 nights there before my first step of many..Buen Camino all and see you on the way..
I have a flight booked from Bristol to Bordeaux on the 28th April, only about €40 ish..A night in Bordeaux! hotel about €78 and a train on the 29th to SJPDP, around €35, that is due to arrive around lunch time. Two nights in SJPDP, LUXURY!! Before the 1st May start.

Have you tried easyjet from Santiago to Gatwick.. It's not stansted but it's London and may get you there earlier in order to make your onward journey?

Thanks for your response.. Do you know how many stamps that would be?. I have my pilgrim passport and there are 48 stamp spaces on it, I will be starting at SJPDP and hoping to go all the way to Finisterre..
There has been a number of conflicting answers to the number of stamps required during the last 100 km leading into Santiago in order to obtain the Compostela. Can anyone clarify this matter please?
