What happened to Forum member Alexwalker?

My husband and I just finished the Camino and we opted for these distances as well (I’m 65, my husband is 72). Our goal was to finish but to also take care of ourselves. We planned break periods as well. Good luck and enjoy!

Accommodation Recommendations in Leon for Solo Female Traveler

I highly recommend staying at the Leon Parador (historical sites converted into hotels). It is in a former Monastery and only guests can tours all the site. It is magnificent. Paradors have specials for peregrinos with their credential, ages over 55 and other specials. There is also much to see...

    Rest days

Leon has many nice places to stay. If you can stay one night in the Parador as a pilgrim or senior (special rate) it’s a beautiful historic building. The cathedral is a must see!

    Credential

I have gotten two stamps per day in the last 80km. Then we stopped for 3 days so we’d be fresh when entering Santiago. How do we document the 3 days we stay at the same place?

    Heading to the Meseta

If you can, stay at the Parador in Leon. It is in an old Monastery, has over 55 or peregrino rates and is spectacularly beautiful. The Cathedral is also a must see!

    The Two "Chickentown" Paradores

Definitely join the Amigos club for Paradores. Also they have over 55 rates and Pilgrim rates. We have stayed in the Santo Domingo, Leon, and at now in Villafranca Parador. There rate here is the equivalent to a higher end Hostal or Casa. In Santiago dC, there is also a Christmas special and a...

Roncesvalles and Mansilla seem to be the bed crunch trouble spots

We have also found a crunch between Astorga and Molinaseca; Trabadelo and Triacastela. We are older and going shorter distances. Good luck out there and Buen Camino!
