Hello from Illinois as well. My wife and I walk the French Camino in 2017 and again in 2018. We are planning to walk the Portuguese Camino in May, 2022. Enjoy!
Any details about the trail and accommodations would be greatly appreciated. My wife and I plan to start in Lisbon the first week in May, 2022. Buen Camino!
I turn 70 next year. My wife is a little younger. We walked the Frances route from St Jean in 2017 and again in 2018. We plan to walk again starting the first week of May in 2022. Both of us can’t wait to get started. We have purchased our boots and walking now to break them in. Like our...
These are all wonderful suggestions, but I expected nothing less from all of you. There are any number of wonderful books published from people who have walked the French Way (for example) in Spain. Are there any books (in English) of someone's experience walking the Le Puy routed that you...
We like walking in a variety of settings, even across the Meseta. Our thoughts were to start 2 weeks away from St. Jean, but now you got me thinking. We could walk 2 weeks anywhere in France with suitable accommodations, "guideposts", etc. And then train/bus to St. Jean. Suggestions?
My wife and I walked from St Jean to Santiago in 2017 and again in 2018. We plan to walk the French Way again in 2022 (to celebrate our 70th years) but we would like to start farther into France prior to St. Jean. We want to include an experience in France and with the French people into our...
My wife and I are on the Camino now. We started in SJPP on May 13 and checked in Albergue Rosalia in Castrojeriz a few minutes ago. Yes the weather reports call for cold and rain but it has not been bad. Rain is usually not much more than drizzle a few hours during the day but more common is...
My wife and I spent the day today in SJPP. It was a light to heavy drizzle off/on most of the day with very heavy forcast. The man at the Camino office told us to expect some snow on the mountain tomorrow. Hope this helps a little. We are going for it tomorrow and will take whatever as it comes.
My wife and I finished our first Camino Frances last summer. I hated for it to end. It took me almost 3 weeks to adjust and knew I needed to do this at least one more time. My wife said she was glad we accomplished it together but for her, never again. But that decision changed over the next...
