Is it necessary to book a place to sleep every day on the CF?

No. Night before and you aren’t stuck to a schedule that’s to short or long

    SAINT-JEAN (1st Day) failure rate 40%?!

The first day is a shock as the climb is immediate and steep. Unless you are very fit better to stay at Orisson or get a taxi back to SJPP and back up next morning. I find it very hard to believe the drop out rate is as high as you say.

    Opinions on Meseta

I love the Meseta. My favourite part of the whole walk. Big vistas and a wild feeling . Do it if you can.

**4 Day Walking Route Needed please for Sarria to Santiago**

35 in a day is a very big ask unless you’re very young and fit. I don’t know what age or level of walker your mother is but 20k is probably enough.

    Descent into Zubiri

But you did it and you’ll remember it. Incidentally I got chased by an escaped bull running down there.

Coping with change after Sarria - wisdom needed please

I’ve done it twice. Avoid the feeling of superiority because ( like me ) you’ve walked from SJPdP. All Caminos bring their rewards and to see so many people especially school kids having a good time is what focus on.

Husband wants to come with me!

Ryan ticket Santiago to stanstead available

Ryanair provide good value flights that enable uk walkers to return at a manageable price. Don’t think the abuse they get is justified and it’s not their fault you’re not using the ticket so why are they winning?

    Top tips from Frances veterans?

My best tips. Good quality Vaseline type foot cream every morning and very thin socks which adhere and stop rubbing. Walking socks over. Secondly don’t do the first day in one. Either stop at Orisson or get transportation back and up again in the morning to restart.
