Whenever I'm enquired for what kind of gift to get me I say raspberry anything. I rarely get raspberry anything. :-(
On to baking. Is candied ginger available in Spain? Peg sometimes makes triple ginger cookies with grated ginger, ginger powder and small chunks of candied ginger (aka...
Take a look at the forum's webpage showing who is starting out in April and send out a group PM (private message) to those starting from the same place at the same time looking for someone to walk with a few days to get the hang of things. Even first timers could be helpful (assuming they had...
I looked up the definition of ronda in the online Spanish dictionary published by the RAE. Definition #6 appears to be the one we want.
https://dle.rae.es/ronda?m=form
6. f. Cada uno de los paseos o calles cuyo conjunto circunda una ciudad o la parte antigua de ella.
6. f. Each of the walks...
Please accept my apologies. The tone in my head was light banter and I see that it didn't work. It wasn't the "directly" that made me respond but the combination of "directly down". That was a tough uphill and we ran out of water. I wanted to issue a warning but I didn't do it right.
I have...
We went part way up The Reek (Crough Patrick) six months ago and in good weather. I posted about it in last year's thread.
Happy St. Patrick's Day to the Irish and those who wish they were and to those who are Irish for a day. ☘️

Probably should revise this one too. Add 3 km to the Uterga to Lorca segment to include a visit to the church of Santa María in Eunate. Many say to make this detour, none say they did and wish they hadn't.

A repost:

Now that you've read "The Country Walk" you understand why Eliot won...
I agree. I found the plan that @CA_Pilgrim mentioned and posted a link to it. I got called to dinner. Now, finished, I looked more closely at the plan. It seems to be created as a way for folks in the US to talk to families back in the "old country". Also, on the webpage I don't remember seeing...
Google Maps shows this as Capela da Ascensión de Perros. This doesn't match the names on the sign though. You can get photos with the following link:

So, maybe all dogs do get to go to heaven. 🤣
OpenStreetMap.org has a walking distance of 1 km (13 minutes) between the Meson and the Igrexa de Santa Baia de Pascais (behind Casa Xaymaca). Is that what you mean by fairly soon?
Photos of that church can be found by clicking Photos on the following webpage...
