Aarn Backpack Advice Please - FF or PA

Hi @tomishy Sorry for the late reply but it's been a busy week and I wanted to give you a measured response. Logged on today and I thought 'wow', the answers just above say it all and I've little to add (thanks Katie and Tuaruin). I purchased the Peak Aspiration which is really larger than...

Hip Belt Pockets - Yes or No?

If you use poles the issue will likely go away. That being said I looked long and hard at the Osprey packs. The belt pockets are somehow just poorly designed. They're a little awkward to get to and the zips jam, often requiring two hands to open (one hand to tension the pocket and the other to...

Thanks @Kanga for the clarification. Also a very generous offer of your time and I may take you up on it. :-)

@katie@camino Thanks Katie - I will provide updates but I'm not sure if my process will be totally objective and/or scientific.

Aarn Backpack Advice Please - FF or PA

Thanks @Africa - the photos are a great idea and your friend seems to be carrying the PA without any issue. You are correct in that I don't need to fill it up. Also, I'm a lot taller so I don't expect to have any problems with the size of it. @Kanga thanks also, and you've just made something...

    Aarn packbags

Thanks @Louis Lloyd that is a very valid point and another forum member has recommended the Peak Aspiration. I guess I'm gonna need to drive to Sydney and try on both.

Aarn Backpack Advice Please - FF or PA

Thanks @Africa for the quick response. The Peak Aspiration looks great and I'm actively considering it. This is how the rankings are shaping up so far in my mind: 1. Natural Exhilaration (arguably best volume for Camino) 2. Peak Aspiration (superior hip belt system but might be bigger than I...

    Aarn packbags

Thanks @Anamya - I'd not seen that bag before and I note it has some mixed reviews online around comfort and durability (although these do appear to be in the minority. PS: I'm a few hundred km outside of Sydney so am contemplating a day trip into town. :-)

Stuff I was wrong about - And Trail Runners

Unfortunately, they don't appear to go up to size 15 in Altra (or much of anything else really).

Hey @Africa - What pack did you end up with?

    Aarn packbags

Background: My wife and I are prepping for the Camino in September 2019. We're also bringing along our youngest son (a 13-14 year old teenager). Currently - I'm focused on packs and footwear for myself and suddenly I've found myself looking at the Aarn range of packs. Personal Info: I turn 57...

Stuff I was wrong about - And Trail Runners

Thanks for this tip. I just looked at their site and OMG! they also go up to size US15 which is what I need. Now I just need to find a stockist in Australia.
