    An Alcohol-Free Camino?

same here... and everytime I get to Iratche the fountain is broken, no wine, should that be a sign to stop drinking or just another reason to walk the camino again? I met many people not drinking anything at all, and we still had great evenings together, so alcohol or not is no real issue on the...

    Finisterre to Bilbao?

a few years ago I took a bus to A Coruna, from there to Santander and then to Bilbao, not via Santiago. I stayed over in Santander, my credencial gave me access to the albergue there. It was a really nice trip! Rolf

    Experience of the German routes

Hi Seioge, I've walked part of the Swiss Jakobsweg - the waymarking is excellent, accommodation is not an issue, landscape is stunning, mainly German and Swiss pilgrims. Please let me know if you have any specific questions, I'm more than happy to help. Rolf

    3 friends cycling the Camino

I've used Tour N Ride, they are based in Santiago and will send the bike to any place along the camino, so you can start wherever you want http://www.tournride.com The bikes were decent, nothing special, but they did the job. And you might want to rent the panniers as well, nothing more...

    Camino Frances Albergues

Hi Patricio, there are some albergues which open after Easter, but I've been walking the Frances a few times in March/ April, and I never had a problem with finding a bed. You normally can check with the hospitaleros if the albergues on your next stage are open. Rolf

Swiss Via Jacobi - Guide Book

Hi Manosge, Check http://www.jakobsweg.ch, there is a good section in English with description of the way, small map, and a very comprehensive accommodation list. I didn't use any other guide when I walked the route from Konstanz to Einsiedeln, and I won't get another one for the way to Geneva...

I would have come along, but "unfortunately" I will be somewhere between Fromista and Leon, eating the usual Menu del Peregrino... :) Nevertheless, I hope you have a good day out, and maybe next time! Rolf

    Fromista - SdC in November/December

Hi All, it's not really an introduction, but I just made my travel arrangements to continue on the Frances from Fromista to Santiago end of November/ early December. I wondered if anyone of you will be out there as well, to share a glass of wine in the evenings after a long days walk in the...

    Valladolid

I thought I share this with you; just booked a ticket from London Stanstead to Valladolid for £10 incl tax with Ryanair. From Valladolid you can get to Leon, Astorga or Burgos really easy (direct bus from the airport), or in my case to Fromista (by train). I think it's one of the lesser known...
