    I have lost myself

Dear Matt, I too can understand and sympathize with your feelings. When we travel, it is an escape from our "real world", we leave all our responsibilities and the pressures of life behind. I experienced peace and a sense of fulfillment and achievement, when I completed my first was...

Casa Ivar The New Bus Station in Santiago de Compostela

Thank you Ivar, I have just marked it on my SDC map for next time. When we finish a camino, we usually stay at a hotel in Praza Galicia, then walk to the bus and catch one back to Porto Airport, to fly home to Australia....this station is much more convenient.☺

How do you feel when you finish a camino?

I agree that you have that sense of achievement and satisfaction that you have completed this awesome walk, but sad too, that it is over. Usually, I can't wait to get home and start planning the next camino.😊

Thanks Anna, I have just finished watching your whole camino was wonderful. I got the guide book to plan that one, but covid intervened and all walks are on hold. At least watching your video, made me feel like I was there with you, very uplifting and beautiful scenery and little...

La Vuelta - arrives in Santiago de Compostela

Thoroughly enjoyed watching stage 20 of the Vuelta last night. Wonderful visuals of the coast fom A Guarda, Oia and beautiful Baiona. Memories of our Portugues camino, coastal route in 2019. We had a rest day in Baiona, the scenery was stunning. Tonight's final stage of the bike race, is a time...

GR 70:- Robert Louis Stevenson trail

Thank you Wayfarer and Newfydog, lots of information to digest. I hope this trail isn't as strenuous as the Tour du Mont Blanc...that is the hardest one I have done so far.👍

GR 70:- Robert Louis Stevenson trail

Planning is half the fun. I have ordered the new Cicerone guidebook and will read it thoroughly before I make any arrangements. Otherwise, we hope to do the Camino Portugues again in 2022.

    West Highland Way

My husband and I walked the WHW in June 2010, but in reverse, starting at Fort William and finishing in Milngavie. The reason being, that Mark rode from Land's End to John O'Groats on his bicycle the 12 days prior to the hike. We used "Pack horse" to move on our 20kg.luggage daily, and just...

    COVID Porto Update?

From here in Melbourne, Australia, Europe seems very dismal at the moment. Emirates flights are even cancelled on the east coast here. Our March 2020 CP was cancelled, but we do hope to get back to Portugal & Spain in 2022 or 2023. By then, we should have been vaccinated and the covid situation...
