LIVE from the Camino Piscine municipals

Go swimming at the end of the day in the municipal swimming pools. Most small towns have them, and for 2 or 3 Euros: it's a great way to cool off and relax. Estella would have to be my pick; indoor pool, sauna, spa baths that practically cured my walking injuries!

buying a ticket for the Alsa bus and cheap hotels in Leon

Yes. I don't know any Spanish either , and the bus companies don't employ anyone with any languages (go figure!). But the timetables will be posted in the window and you can always write down the date , destination and time you need. It's amazing how easy it is the communicate almost anything...

Which are the recommended,"not to miss" albergues?

Stay at Castrojeriz and climb up to the 9th C castillo on the hill behind the town at dusk: the view of the Meseta is amazing.

    How many Km/day?

Use the Brierley guide only for the maps and Albergue info if the walking distances don't suit you. Relax and see how you go. Stop trying to "run the race in your head before you run it"! (It's not a race, this is a euphemism) Buon Camino.

Have the summer crowds started to diminish?

The summer crowds are fine, especially in the first half of the Camino Francis. Relax and go with the flow, Buon Camino!
