Go swimming at the end of the day in the municipal swimming pools. Most small towns have them, and for 2 or 3 Euros: it's a great way to cool off and relax. Estella would have to be my pick; indoor pool, sauna, spa baths that practically cured my walking injuries!
Yes. I don't know any Spanish either , and the bus companies don't employ anyone with any languages (go figure!).
But the timetables will be posted in the window and you can always write down the date , destination and time you need. It's amazing how easy it is the communicate almost anything...
Use the Brierley guide only for the maps and Albergue info if the walking distances don't suit you. Relax and see how you go. Stop trying to "run the race in your head before you run it"! (It's not a race, this is a euphemism) Buon Camino.
