Anyone who can nab them would be lucky to get them! I stayed there two nights ago. It’s easily the best albergue I’ve ever stayed in. First class—organized, clean, good food, privacy in your bed, gorgeous views, welcoming host.
Thanks, all, for the advice, commiseration, etc. I’m sure things will all work out. The Camino will be a stretch for me mentally and physically and spiritually as it is, so the potential heat will just be one more challenge to help me rely on God as I walk.
Buen Camino to those of you out...
Wow, that sounds fun! Had I known of it sooner…but I’ll be in Northern Ireland by Saturday to hear a music group perform in Belfast. Thanks so much for the invite, though. And I’m with you on wool socks. It’s all I wear back home even for ordinary life.
Buen Camino, fellow Alaskan. Hope it gets cooler for you soon. But it sounds like you’re making the best of it.
That’s me, so that’s a bit what I’m worried about. But I’m thinking it will all work out. Things usually do.
I have, but I’m afraid my lightest layer isn’t light enough! It’s a really thin merino wool that’s perfect for 60-degree days, but 70+ would be pretty uncomfortable.

Out of curiosity I’d like to hear more about your fundamentalist views and what you disagree with in current Camino practices. With my health concerns, I likely won’t be able to follow them all, but I like to hear different people’s views and reasoning.
Oofos are comfortable enough to walk miles in, and they weigh just a few ounces. They’re not cheap, about 60 USD, but I have found them to be worth it.
Everyone else seems to have covered this topic pretty thoroughly, so I’ll just add that the back of your card should tell you if your card is linked to Cirrus or PLUS or one of the other international ATM networks. Likewise, ATM’s usually have the logos of those same networks on the front to...
Haha! Yes, this gave me a good laugh. But this guy was twice my age (and I’m not that young!) and smelled a little too boozy for my taste, so romantic or not, I had to let him go.
Thank you, this was helpful. I downloaded it and read it over before the mass in Santiago last night, but they said to put phones away, so then I just listened and tried to catch what I could.
I was just in Paris and had a guy approach me with the ring thing, but I didn’t really understand. As a rule I don’t talk to pushy strangers in touristy cities, so I firmly said no to him, but he seemed genuinely willing to give me the ring for a Euro. What is the scam? Is the ring cheaper than...
