There's a sand dune on one of the stages of the Camino do faros.

On second thought, you might be referring to another area past Monte Branco and Area do Trece. If so, it's Monte da Pedrosa, and according to Wikiloc it's a 60 meter climb in half a kilometer. It's not really a sand dune, though.

There's a sand dune on one of the stages of the Camino do faros.

I'm fairly certain you are referring to Monte Branco near Praia do Trece and Cementerio dos Ingleses. They've just re-routed the Camiño to avoid this sand dune to aid conservation efforts as it's a delicate ecosystem...

How does the Primitvo compare with the Salvador in terms of difficulty?

I've done the Salvador twice and Primitivo once. The Salvador has the most difficult stage (Poladura-Bendueños/Campomanes) but the Primitivo is longer with more elevation gain/loss. Both are my favorite Caminos. I recommend to do both together if you're fit.

    Luggage transfer: Villafranca to Santiago

I will arrive to Villafranca on 31 December and begin the Camino the next day. I will have a backpack but also a suitcase. I want to send the suitcase to Santiago where I will collect it on 8 January. I've already reached out to two companies (Jacotrans and Camino Ways) but they cannot provide...

Best time to walk San Salvador

Late May the path was extremely muddy and soggy. Some snow patches but nothing too deep.

Picos de Europa - Is it connected to the del Norte?

Here is a PDF with the stages and other information.

Picos de Europa - Is it connected to the del Norte?

I did the Lebaniego and Vadiniense routes in August 2016. The Vadienense briefly passes through the Picos de Europa National Park. There is a camping site—mainly RVs but there is a room with bunks for trekkers—in Fuente Dé near the cable car. I stayed there and recommend it; I wish I stayed a...

Where do I obtain the credencial for the Camino san Salvador?

Is the Salvador difficult? Some of the stages, sure. Is it too difficult to even consider? Not at all. If you are fit, even just somewhat fit, you'll be fine. Of course, the weather is the biggest obstacle as you reach the higher altitude sections. I've walked it twice, once in mid-May and the...

Camino Olvidado Guide in English -- Now is the time to go!

My iPhone won't let me download the guide from the forum; keep getting error messages. I am on the Vadinienese and plan on doing the Salvador again this year to connect to the Primitivo later. I learned from a fellow pilgrim a few days ago that it's possible to take a "short cut" from Cistierna...

Wanting a warm beach at end of Camino early July

Illas Cíes is a 45-mintue ferry from Vigo. Rodas Beach on the island routinely makes best beaches lists.

    Sello in Ferrol?

I have read that the Parador stamps credentials. It is on the Camino near the start by the marina.

    Inglés broken up

Here is a hypothetical situation: Will I still receive a Compostela if I do the Inglés over two weekends? For example, a Saturday and Sunday one weekend and then Friday-Monday the following weekend? Do you have to complete a continuous 100 km to qualify for the Compostela? And a related...

    Herbón monastery

I would love to stay here but I am interested in a few details. What time is the special mass? How many KM is the following day to Santiago? I need to be there by 2pm to pick up something of mine. Also, I would love to make the noon mass at the Santiago cathedral but I am not sure if it is...

    Credencial alternatives

Thanks all for the advice. I went back to the cathedral the next morning and the gentleman had more credentials.
