Mate, def don’t walk for 8 days out of Lisbon. Roads, roads, roads and highways. Go from Porto and enjoy.

    Waymarking from Coimbra to Porto?

Go for it! I actually got a little confused walking out of Coimbra, the arrows were hard to find (August 2018). I’d say that from Coimbra onwards is very pretty and very well marked. Good luck and enjoy.

What is the most intimidating aspect of walking the Camino Frances on your own?

Nothing really mate. I’ve been twice now and it’s actually all straight forward. Only concern I had was walking out of Lisbon and thought ‘what if I get injured’ as no one else was around. Relax, have fun, enjoy. And take care of those feet.

The Camino Portugues...Does one Need to SPEAK Portuguese??

    Help from Caminha please

Hi peeps, Can I please have some help. I’m Caminha right now, and planned to take the ferry tomorrow. I’ve been so tired and all I haven’t really been looking at the map and I just realised if I take the ferry I’ll miss seeing Tui and Valenca. Am I right in that the coastal route continues...

Has anyone had a haircut on the Camino?

Yeah I treated myself to a hot towel shave and cut in Leon - found him in the old town. Total hipster, ink and all. Just smile and laugh and you’ll be fine. Was so great I felt a million bucks after ( and bought a new pair of jocks after the cut!). Little things in life ..

    Weather - Camino Portugues

Having a rest day in a hostel 150km north of Lisbon. It is shockingly hot. Burning. Myself and a poor Italian woman walked 32 km yesterday and are now paying for it. More than sweltering.

Have you walked CP from Lisbon?

Hey Andy - on the route now. Message if needed. It is so hot here I can not describe - and I’m an Australian.....)

    Forest fires

Temps may have decreased, but between Santarém and Golega today it was scorching. The sun was burning - 4 lots of sunscreen stops - with all the sweat it made not much difference. Absolutely rancid day.

Accommodation - should i book ahead

    Def book in SJPP!

    Got advice? Share it please!

Take your time, pack super super super super super light, and most of all, be prepared for some setbacks. I’d also say lookup and enjoy the scenery, something I regret not doing more.
