Shawnasong Hi. This is Spain not United States. There are many banks in Madrid - I assume you have an ATM card to get money. If you use a credit card you will get the official rate at that time. My credit card does not charge for out of the country charges.

Thank you. Not sure what you mean by it being Spain, no the States...that's okay. Anyway, I have dollars because that is the cash I have on hand, as I am an American. I will bring some and exchange for euros. I didn't expect to use dollars in Spain. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Buen Camino, Shawna

I am an American expat living in Costa Rica with my husband and 10-year-old son. I am a singer-songwriter, gamer, painter, crochet artist (as my son calls me), foodie, hiker, dreamer, seeker... I am in the middle of a lot of questions. Oh lookie there, mid-life! Instead of going into crisis, and throwing out the baby with the bath water, I think I will take a nice long walk instead. I kept saying that I needed to do a walkabout, and then Bam! I started hearing about the Camino left and right. So, here I go!
