  • I am just planting a seed : I also intended to do the Portuguese from Lisbon in August 2018 but was persuaded to rather start from Porto. The reason was much of the walking is on tarred roads , industrial areas and little through farmland. Instead I added Santiago to Finisterre and Muxia. The walk to Finisterre was a highlight of my camino.

If you have time start from Lisbon, first few days are dull, but a Camino you must take it as a whole. I did it from Lisbon two years ago and loved it all, yes it got better each day but to appreciate the best , you must experience the dull bits 👍

Thanks, I did the Santiago-Muxia-Finisterre loop last year after the Via and also enjoyed it greatly. Will do Santiago to Finisterre this year. Am ok with the dull bits (mental challenge), and I have the time! Thanks.
