    If you had to choose ... I’m deciding between the Camino Inglés and then on to both Fisterra and Muxia OR Camino Primitivo

    Highly recommend you do both as they are very different Caminos. We did Camino English from Ferrol to Fisterre and finished in Muxia in 2018 and the Camino Primitivo to Muxia and finished in Fisterre in 2019, The Primitivo is certainly much harder with a lot up significant ups and downs.

    Do I need rain gear in April and May on the Via de la Plata. What kind of sleeping gear I need?

    You will need rain gear for any Camino you do and I would rec if you have a poncho to also bring light weight rain pants. The rain pants could give you another layer if it gets real cold and doesn't weigh much. i have only used a light weight sleep sack for 2 spring Caminos and 3 fall ones.

    We were just in Oviedo and Lugo a month ago if you show you pilgrim passport they let us in free in Oviedo and Lugo.

    I believe the albergue you were thinking of between Castro verde and Lugo is in Vilar de Cas and called A Pocina de Muniz. its a wonderful stop 15km from Lugo which gives you a long day there without a rest stop.

    Totally agree with Isca-camigo observation about taking the Hospitals route but would recommend you stay at a Albergue Samblismo.     Albergue in Samblismos on Camino Primitivo

    Samblismo was a great place to stay before starting the Hospitales route a few weeks ago. Javier was a great host and cooked us a wonderful dinner. He has room for 12 with 4 rooms with 2 beds in each and a bunk room with 4 beds.

    Sorry Sorry I think age is taking my brain away. The place we stayed at 2 weeks ago is Casa Meson O Argentino not Casa Curina. Its just past the main part of town 1 block off the Camino. It has a restaurant bar and a grocery store. Nice clean rooms a a good meal.

    Primitivo in July/sleeping bag?

    Just finished the Primitivo in the last 2 weeks and only carried a silk sleep sack. Sleeping bag isn't necessary.

    Just stayed at Meson O Argentino a couple of weeks ago. Rooms clean and nice and the lady running it cooked us a delicious dinner in front of the fireplace as it was cold and wet outside.

    Arriving in Oviedo around 7 pm on June 6th

    We started our Camino Primotivo on May 1 and accommodations were pretty available. We did reserve a private room at Hotel Romero only 35 Euros for 2 of us. It is 1 block off the Camino and very close to the bus station and cathedral.
