A late entry and not much to add to everything everyone has said above @Rodney Kent. 'Am guessing you are in Aotearoa since you appear to have just woken up! A group of friends and I were discussing the best way to get to the South Island for a hike, and an aeronautical engineer for our national...
Hola. Soy de Auckland. I've done 2 and planning another. There's no real way around the airfare thing, it is what it is from here. The best I can suggest is pick a window in the future and keep an eye out for deals. It's definitely cheaper to fly into places like Madrid or London and get cheap...
Hola peregrinos. I've done 2 camino's now with an Osprey 36 which on the whole has been great. However, I'm 6ft tall and am feeling like it's a bit too short. It does not have an adjustable back, but I do love the trampoline back-ventilation feature. I also love the water bladder feature. My...
I did the Norte in July with my Wise card (and my husband ;-) and it was great. Not sure if it's been mentioned above but highly recommend only getting cash out from an ATM machine at a bank during working hours. That way if something goes wrong with the transaction, you are able to approach the...
Flew Santiago to London 3 weeks ago to London with my Osprey 36L. I think it depends on the route and the ticket you get. Our 36L's were definitely not included in our 'cabin baggage' so we ended up buying checked luggage in advance. From what I can tell, with longer routes, there might be more...
My XL New Zealand husband is currently on the Norte with me and is managing fine with a Sea to Summit poncho just in case you don’t manage to find an Altus one. Buen Camino!
Im on the Norte in Santander right now and it’s 28deg. It’s 5pm. That said, my husband and I have been starting our walking between 6&7am and are generally at our destination by 1pm. Highly recommended. This heatwave has just arrived in the last day or two. You would be unlucky if there was...
Update: Tourist Información in the town centre rang one of the health centres under the green tab (Mon -Fri) on the list. They said pilgrims should go directly to the hospital as the health centres were for people who lived here. So that’s what we did. There for 2-3 hrs. All good.
Buenos días peregrinos. We are making our way to Santander this morning and one of our group needs some medical care. Are there any urgent cares clinics? Or any other suggestions please? Buen camino.
I did the Primitivo in summer and took a cotton sarong. Bad idea. It took ages to dry after a shower even though it was very light. This time I'm taking a larger microfibre (sea to summit) towel (yes I know microfibre has it's own set of issues). They have a snap-loop on them and I saw some...
