Camino de St Paul's Trail, Turkey?

Two friends are hiking part of this trail right now. Did you finish your hike?

How do people 60-and-over plan their Camino?

I walked my first Camino (Frances) five years ago when I was 63. No planning (apart from sorting out my rucksack). I trained on my pilgrimage; walking around 15kms a day initially & built up to 20-22kms. This distance suited me. I had the luxury of taking as much time as I wanted as I was...

OBSOLETE COVID THREAD Walking Without Vaccine?

I live in France & their digital passport for Covid is now operational. Time between 1st & 2nd jabs has been accelerated. Sadly we’re along way from 60% fully vaccinated (& even further from having ‘herd immunity’ 😩)

OBSOLETE COVID THREAD Walking Without Vaccine?

As we all know, the situation is very fluid throughout the world; what is feasible today might not be tomorrow (or when your friend travels). In theory, people travelling within Europe will be able to use their vaccination, testing (self testing is not often accepted) or recovery certificates...

OBSOLETE COVID THREAD Walking Without Vaccine?

I think you’ll find that most countries don’t accept the self test.

    Restart

I walked my first Camino back in Oct/Nov 2016 - before that, I was often on this forum and found its members to be so welcoming, and ready to help. I must admit life then got in the way, and I dropped out of sight - although I did peek around a bit about a year ago when I was looking into...

St James Way or Juliana Trail in Slovenia

Good morning. It's been a while since I've logged in here. I walked 1,000 kms along part of Via Podiensis before joining Camino Frances and walking through to Finisterre (2016); then I walked 200 km (2018) along the Via Francigena (Tuscany/ Umbria area). I'm now researching walking in...

Best laid plans of mice and men ;). My May Camino didn't plan out; but I'm leaving tonight and starting in Lucca.

    Best Poncho in the Universe

Good info, thank you @David. Always looking for ways to trim weight. Setting off tonight on the Via Francigena (so too late for this Camino) & managed to reduce my Camino Frances back pack down to just over 5kg + I’ve lost 5kg of personal weight. So this should lighten my walk :) Suzanne

Really cool app for making daily videos

Son #2 uses this app when he trail runs & it’s fun watching where he’s been. I never thought of using it for my Camino. Downloading it now. Thanks a lot @trecile. Suzanne

Leaving on my first Camino in the morning & I'm terrified. Please help!

@Elisha Above is all good advice, so I’m not going to repeat them. Just get out there and start walking. Maybe the first few days you don’t manage so many kilometers, but go slowly & work out your own rhythm. And above all, enjoy it. Savour it. You’ve spent so long planning. Now is the time to...

What issues arise when walking with a companion?

I met my Camino ‘family’ late into my two month pilgrimage (autumn 2016). By then we were all ‘seasoned’ walkers & were able to separate when needed (sometimes just during the day; other times maybe one stopping earlier than the others & staying in a different village). The last week, walking...
