Sahagún to Santiago and on to Finistere and back to Santiago.

Hi Helen. My son and I walked from Sahagun to Santiago two years ago in 21 days, and we were doing less than 15-16 miles per day. I honestly don't think you'll need to take a bus through any portion at that rate, unless you want to build in time to spend a few days resting at different points...

    Sahagun overnight stop?

I did the camino last summer and stayed in Sahagun. You can get a geographical midpoint certificate at the local church which was a fun extra. I stayed at the Los Balcones del Camino.

Where to put what at bedtime?

Hello and congratulations on starting your journey! When I walked last year, I kept my money/cards/passport in a small flat travel purse that I just took in to bed with me. Backpacks and other gear I just kept at the end of my bunk. Hope that helps. Buen Camino!

    Shoes and sleeping bag

I did the camino last May-June and I never needed a sleeping bag. All of the places we stayed had blankets and I wasn't cold at night. It did rain on several days and there was often dew in the morning, so waterproof hiking shoes were very useful in my opinion.

Is a guide book really necessary????

I used mine daily during the walk. I thought it was very helpful for picking alternate routes and getting advice on local stuff.

    Vegetarians?

Hello all. I will be traveling with a vegetarian next year and I am wondering if there will be any availability of pilgrim menus for her or if we should plan on making other eating arrangements. Also, does anyone have tips/hints/advice for vegetarians traveling the Camino? Thanks all!
