When to walk Via de Plata

Hello fellow pilgrims! I met a wonderful pilgrim last spring, and we'd like to do a short Camino next spring. My friend's schedule is limited to the last 2 weeks of May. We'd both like to spend some time in Seville, but I've heard that the Via de Plata is difficult due to limited services...

    Which route has fewest cobblestones

So true! I had done 2 previous Caminos with ZERO foot problems. My third was Camino Portuguese. Due to the cobblestones, I lost 2 my 2 big toenails. They bruised from hitting so much stone and pavement. A fellow pilgrim lost 6 toenails!

    Caldas de Reis to Padrón

I read that the most of the stretch between Caldas de Reis and padrón follows along the highway. Doesn’t sound very scenic. Since I have to skip a stretch to catch a flight, would you recommend this one or the stretch between Pontevedra and Caldas de Reís? (Im don’t have time to consider...

    Costal to Central

Thank you for your response! To verify my understanding, I should continue along the coast from Labruge until I reach Vila do Conde, and that is where I go inland to the Camino CentraL?

    Camino Portugues weather in June

I see that they have 5 days of rain on average in June. So, maybe I should leave my trail gaitors (for keeping rain out of one's boots) at home.

I've booked the central route. Could you tell me more about the roads you avoided leaving Porto? Is one right on the road--no separate path?

    Camino Portugues guidebook

Hello all! I'm preparing for my 3rd Camino, but first one in Portugal. I see that Matthew Hamms has a new guidebook out this year for Camino Portugues. Have you used a guidebook in the past? How helpful is it? I have printed out the stages and distance from stingynomads.com. Is a...

All places to sleep in one file - Coastal and Central route, Camino Portuguese

Thank you so much for this resource. Did you select these lodgings for the list based on proximity to the camino? I'm looking for a moderately priced place to spend 2 nights in Porto. When I looked them up, some were outside of Porto--e.g. Horta. I'm wondering if that's because they are...
