    Staying in the cheapest albergues

One of the best value for money Albergues we stayed in, was in Arzua, the St. Apostal Albergue - it has a green sign, one the right hand side of the road when you enter Arzua. All the albergues are located close to each other. I was still brand new and sparkling clean when we stayed there in Oct...

    what does "o cebreiro" mean?

I must just say that I loved this town! When we entered, there were bagpipe music playing, and it was just an amazing atmosphere - and not at all as crowded as people said it would be - this was in Oct 2008. Definitely one of the towns I remember. Especially refreshing after the climb getting...

So why do you do it...?

My husband and I walked the Camino in October 2008. I started the Camino expecting some kind of enlightenment to hit me every step of the way, and I soon realized that that is not what the Camino did to me. A few days into the Camino I realized that the Camino will be what I make of it, and...

    Camino this October

My husband and I are also walking in October. Starting 12 October in SJPDP! Maybe we see you along the way! Thanks for the great advice, Pablo. Do you know whether the bed bug problem will affect the albergues in October (maybe finding some of them closed?)

Your advice - Cycling the actual Camino Frances ????

    Tour n Ride

Great, thanks Johnny! Don't want to become one of those paranoid people, but that is quite an imporant arrangement to be made! Thanks!

Your advice - Cycling the actual Camino Frances ????

My husband and I will also be cycling the Camino Frances in Oct 2008. What I am wondering, is whether pannier bags are really necessary, or if we can get away with keeping the bags on our backs if they are not too heavy?

    Cycling the Camino

Hey Myrnapark - you all set for your Sept journey? WE are also planning on cycling, and we are thinking of using TournRide. Did you decide to use them? Hope you have a great journey!

    Tour n Ride

Have anybody used Tour n Ride for bike rental, that can confirm that they are reliable? We are planning on using them to rent our bikes for part of our journey in October. Many of the pilgrims on the biking sites seemed to have, either taken their own bikes, or cycled all the way. We are only...
