Back in 2014 we bought in St Jean Pied de Port, and the shop near the Pilgrims Office had a heap of stock and our Altus ponchos are still as good as the day they were bought. You will be good.
I wholehearedly agree with davebugg. Again as everyone has said it is personal choice. We spent 54 euros on Altus ponchos 7 years ago and still going strong.
Magnificent advice Doughnut. Have a bit of compeed and wool in the bag. But these things are found at a lot of places along the way, so don't carry too much. Buen Camino!
Politely listen to advice from past walkers/cyclists, absorb it then make your own decisions based on common sense. There is a lot of information out there, and all those people have different quantities of resilience and their reactions to situations which may or may not, in similar...
Is anyone aware of a site or location where one can check all regions across any particular camino. Eg all regions along the length of the Camino Frances?
