Hi! in my opinion you should only wear boots in the winter in order to protect your feet from getting wet or cold. I can tell you about my own experience as I am very happy with my choices: I walked 900 kms from SJPP to Finisterre from Aug 14th to Sep 18 last year. I took a pair of hiking the...
Hi! well every experience is different. Last year I did el Camino Frances fron SJPP to Finisterre, I was 58 and never once did a single walking training. My training consisted in doing Insanity twice before going. But you can't avoid the pain and the exhaustion at the end of the day. But it's...
Hi again, let heck item by item. I think that a long sleeve shirt with uv protection will be more useful than the sleeveless top. I took a pair of socks just to go to bed if needed. I didn't take the sarong or the silk scarf, well, I took the scarf but didn't wear it. The clothesline is...
Hi There,
I walked by myself last year from mid August to mid September. I 'll tell you what worked for me. I took a pair of trousers that were torn apart the second day, so I di my 900 kms with only one pair of trekking bermudas, it worked fine. I took two The north Face t shirts and 1 long...
I wore a The North Face set , pants and jacket, waterproof but very light that I wore on top of everything else if there was rain, it even works wonders as windbreaker. recommended 1000%
One of the best pieces of advice I can give you is, don't rely on what you have, buy stuff exclusively for this trip. It is worth it and you won't regret it.
Hi! Last year I did de French Way from SJPP to Finisterre, from mid Augst to mid September, I took a The North Face waterproof set of jacket and pants, extremely light, made of a material which allows ventilation and I bought it a little loose in order to wear it on top of everything even my...
Hi there! I walked last year from SJPP to Finisterre, about water I agree with carrying a half a litre bottle and refill it. About foot wear, and this is really , the most valuable item I took to the camino were were the trekking sandals and included them at the last minute, I wore flip flops...
Hi everybody, I did it last year in Aug-Sep , I was 58 and very well trained, and I went alone. I think that training just walking is not enough, I did Insanity three times (9 weeks each time) before going to Spain, I walked 5 weeks from SJPP to Finisterre, never missed a day, started Aug 14th...
Sandals were the best item I took to the Camino but I wore them only when going downhill or when my feet were too hot. They don't have the cushioning as the shoes have so afterwards my feet hurt.
