    Still going and still rocking!

Long is the road and weary the traveler. I think that's how it goes. A little tired after training today. My goal is to cycle 10 - 15k , take a break, and then repeat that rhythm until I reach my daily stop. As every pilgrim does, I will go at my pace and ability. I will embrace my internal turtle.

    Still going and still rocking!

I haven't found a place that rents an electric trike yet. Although I'd prefer the trike, I'm training on two wheelers.

    Still going and still rocking!

When the going gets tough, the tough get going and adapt. Multiple sclerosis decided to impact my life to the point of limiting my walking ability. Even with the help of braces and trekking poles, I am not able to walk everyday and for extended periods of time. However, I started training on a...

Not March But Maybe October 2021

I will not lie. It has been difficult these past few months. However, I managed to walk a good distance for me today. Considering my condition (MS), I am not sore, winded, or fatigued. The sun is out and my spirits remain steady. Additionally, I am fully vaccinated. October looks good - if...

Not March But Maybe October 2021

Received my right foot AFO today. Training will now get serious. I no longer have to worry about tripping and falling. However, I now have them on both legs. I may have to scale back my daily goal of 15 km/day. We'll see. See you on the trail. Buen Camino!

Not March But Maybe October 2021

Well, I recently had arm surgery and hopeful that my right hand works well after physical therapy. My new ankle-foot orthotic has arrived. The fitting is next week. Even with my recent setback, I remain positive for October 2021. Thank you for all of your support! Buen Camino

Not March But Maybe October 2021

As with all things nowadays, I will postpone my walk until October 2021. It is my sincere hope that all of us begin to recover and soon be together. I will keep training and working to ensure that I can complete a route before my multiple sclerosis renders me immobile. As with most people with...

With hope and gratitude for March 2021

You know what? I can still hope. And, yes, I planned for this. However, I will still train and hope for a March start. Otherwise, I will have to wait another year. Who knows if I will still be able to walk by then? Time will tell.

With hope and gratitude for March 2021

Greetings! What a roller coaster of a year so far?! With patience and concerted effort, I hope that all of us make it through the fall and winter then into a blessed spring. With much disappointment, like many pilgrims, I could not start in St Jean last March. To top off the whole pandemic...

    Frances for my 50th

I’m starting on March 22nd and turn 50 before my start date. Due to my multiple sclerosis and history with it, I’m walking very slowly. Today marked a milestone for me. If I could not walk home from the gym, I would not go. Well, I made it. Buen Camino!
