    SJPDP-SDC in 32 days-is this realistic?

I did my 3rd Camino, at 75, starting in SJPP in 32 days. Carried my backpack EFI. My 4th Camino was more difficult. At 77 I started in Pamplona, got injured. Stopped in Astorga for medical treatment for three days. Still finished and walked on to Muxia. Much more difficult. Had my...

Thoughts on “Santiago - the Camino within”

Cost us $32 for two, waste of money.

    Thames Path advice

Walked the Thames from the source at Kemble, it was dry, to the Thames Barrier last Sept/Oct. 20 days, with a day off in Oxford and another day off in Henley. Hardly anyone else on the path until London. Interesting, but not comparable to the Camino. We met one fellow along the way that was...

Accommodation between Pamplona and Puente la Reina

The albergue in Uterga is outstanding and so is the food. Stopped there last March 2

How to get a Compostela without the crazy 100 k

Last year I started in Pamplona, for my 4th Camino. Got stamps everyday to Sarria, then took a bus to Santiago. No problem getting the Compostela. Then walked onto Muxia. I don’t care for the Sarria-Santiago experience.

How much did you spend and what was the total cost of your Camino Frances, start to finish?

I find the question nonsensica. it’s like asking how much does a car cost, or how much do I have to budget for a house. The variables are endless.

    83 years young

This Spring I finished my 4th Camino, this year being my 80th birthday. I definitely have slowed and easy 15 mile days are things of the past. However, the Camino Magic is still there.

How do you use such a small pack?!?

At age 80 I fly from Colorado in two weeks to do my 4th Camino. Bought a cheep (US $18), lightweight, simple pack to use for 6 weeks. 12.2 pounds, plus water. Keeping it simple

    Walking partner

You’ll find someone. No big deal. It’s all part of the Camino experience.

What I Learned from Walking Alone

I walked alone (?) in 2017 from SJPP to Santiago and onto Muxia. I had done the Camino twice before with others. Walking alone is a different experience, maybe better. I met others everyday from around the world and had a terrific time. I expect to do it alone again next year, finishing on...

walking the Camino aged 79 (the French way)

I heard someone say, “Not a day goes by when I don’t think of the Camino“. That’s certainly my experience. I plan to do it a 4th time in 2022 when I’m 80. The last one was 2017 from SJPP in 32 days, by myself, without a rest day. I just got into a comfortable rhythm and away I went. Being...
