    I only walk in Injinji coolmax socks and hiked in La Sportiva Trail runners. Just one sock, not two. Not sure where you shop but REI and Amazon sell them.     I stayed in a private room in the Albergue in Uterga. I was kept up throughout the night by the barking dogs in the neighbors yard. That has been three years ago. But I would walk on to Obanos and take the chance it’s better.

    I'm on the Norte now and walked the Frances last year in September/ October. The Norte is beautiful, and as others have said the Frances has more community and open churches and services. Of you are wanting to enjoy the community aspect of the Camino I'd choose the Frances.

    On the Norte right now and it's a challenge in the early stages. Many stories of groups of people pilgrim's going in together for an air BNB apartment or finding someone to share a hotel room.
