Wow! Thanks for taking the time to reply! I can imagine the AT must be a serious challenge, fair play to you! 👍I've read a few books on people's hikes on the AT and the PCT and they do sound really tough, but amazing also and they mention the freedom they feel, as well as the mental challenges...
