Porto to Santiago Bus/Train Availability

Wife's sister trying to meet us on the Camino in Porto, but may not have time to hike the whole way. Are there bus or trains that connect to camino towns along the way. Could she arrive in Porto and take a bus to train north to meet us in say Tui? Or could she fly into Santiago and take a train or bus south an meet us along the way???

The service providers to the locations you are asking about are listed here. There are other service providers to other locations along your route. Usually the best way to find them is to look for the bus station website or the town council website where there is often a bus schedule posted. Renex and Rede Express have a comprehensive bus network that covers much of Portugal and CP covers a lot with its rail network.

1910 Tui

ALSA has one bus per day north and south between Santiago and Lisboa that stops at Tuy. This is an international schedule.

It looks like the weekend options are really limited and most of the options reach me to Porto at night rather than in the day. I would really like to reach Porto during the brighter part of the day. The Alsa bus seems to give me 3 options for a Saturday, but I'm wondering whether these options change often. You've mentioned above that:

If you check the schedule within one month of dates of travel the service will be there and it will (probably) run on time. The companies listed are reliable.

I should state that I have no personal experience traveling between Santiago and Porto. I found the web resources listed here on-line. At the time of writing (last fall) ... there was only one ALSA bus on the route ... and 30 May there is but one.
