Interior Portuguese and Via de Estrela

Time of past OR future Camino
2015
I'm doing the preliminary planning for a Portuguese camino in 2017 and am researching all possibilities from central Portugal north. If I do the Portuguese Interior I would like to start in Fundao since my husband comes from there. I have found a bit of information on Via da Estrela and found that it goes through Fundao to Viseu. Where can I find more detailed information on that stage? I'd love to go through the mountains but only if I can avoid the crazy paved roads. I know there are dirt roads and paths up there but don't know how to access them or how to find towns off them. I have seen photos of markers but don't know if the way is well marked. I need to know about accommodation as well.
Thanks in advance for any help.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Here is a link that explains the Via de Estrela. It doesn't go through the city of Fundao but close enough.

The following two links are from googling Via de la Estrella and Camino de Santiago, advice given on another thread on this forum.

Unfortunately, I still can't find info on what the actual route is like, whether its off road or not. I will try the local turismo in the future.

Hi, Anna,
I would contact the Via Lusitana (their webpage has an email address) and see what they can tell you. They may be able to point you in the direction of a group that would have the information you are looking for. Bom caminho, Laurie

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

On another thread, which I can't find now, there was a link to the Camino Torres. I have found all the gps links that I need there. When I first went to the site I couldn't use the links because of google translate. I just needed to turn it off and I found maps for the 'Route Cardosa', that with some alteration would get me to Viseu.
Once again this forum has very helpful information.
